Great!
The menu is slightly different from stereotypes Indian restaurants which is nice we get to try something new other then regular North Indian food. *This place is bit small so expect a waiting for like 20-30 mins. *Service is nice and food is also good. They can do better food wise or may be it was too busy when we visited this place to worry about chip plate and poor presentation. I would visit again on slow day and edit my review for sure. I have tried their lamb shank Raan, and one veg gravy with one naan. I like the lamb shank plate the portion was really nice. Thank you. ???

Perfect!
5 stars for excelling in amazing service and exceptional food! We could smell the spices as we walked by on our way to get groceries for dinner, but we ended up eating here instead, because it just smelled SO good! Everything on the menu looked and sounded delicious, so we over-ordered and ended up trying the avocado jhalmuri, spicy lamb vindaloo, garlic naan, saffron special stuffed kulcha, saffron special chicken tikka and saffron special paneer tikka (which was brought to us by accident, but they let us keep and try)! The flavors for each dish were all very well-developed and complex. The avocado jhalmuri had a fresh, onion-y, guacamole fusion flavor and a mix of crispy textures on top with soft, smooth, pillowy textures on the bottom. The spicy lamb vindaloo had very fresh-tasting perfectly tender meat, a mouthwatering blend of spices with just the right amount of spiciness, and complimenting carrots and potato that added a touch of sweetness and extra textures to the curry. The garlic naan had a delicious grilled flavor and perfect crispy yet chewy texture. We both agreed that the chicken tikka was the best based on the freshness, presentation, and perfect mix of textures. We met the owner and let him know what a great idea it was to open up this place! He was very friendly and made our experience extra special with rasmalai for dessert! We were beyond full at this point, but finished the dessert anyway. Definitely a must-have if you love fresh cheese and don't like things too sweet. The cream sauce that it came in was perfectly smooth and light. We ended up taking a little bit of each dish home, and when we reheated it the next day, everything still tasted just as delicious as the night we got it! (Except the jhalmuri wasn't as crispy anymore, as expected.) Compliments to the chef and the rest of the team working hard here! This definitely set a higher standard for top Indian food and great restaurant service.

Perfect!
Visiting from Edmonton and stopped in randomly. Unbelievable food. We had the Samosa Chana Chaat to start and it was insanely flavourful. We also ordered the Saffron Malai Kofta and the Paneer Lababdar on recommendation and both were amazing. The garlic naan was also delicious. Staff are wonderful and have great recommendations, atmosphere is inviting and friendly. Highly recommend.

Worst.
Long waiting time, more than an hour. People that came after me get served faster made me a bit suspicious about racism(looked like same order). The AC is unpleasantly hot, but yet the door is designed so that every time door is opened the cold wind make everyone in the establishment regret their decision of coming. With in 2 hours of experience, the cry of children never stopped. Not their fault but just saying not recommend if you can’t stand noise. More than half of the table have more then 2 kids. The food qualities was ok, but not worth hour of waiting. The curry was sufficient, but considering they charge more then other, is the only point that didn’t disappoint me.

Perfect!
While I was told "Masala" is the best Indian restaurant in Banff, I was pretty pleased with our dinner at Saffron. The Makhani, Korma and biryani were quite good. Paneer Tikka was a nice appetizer. Lassi was not the best but the Strawberry Shikanjabeen was very good. Service was good and fast. Dishes are/can be shared in the table. For instance, a chicken makhani can be shared between 2 people or 4 people if you order 2 different entrees. We had a wait time of 40 mins for dinner so better to call ahead (and this was in late September).
