Perfect!
The hotel room interior may seem outdated but the rooms and the hotel itself is very clean. The bathroom is fitted with modern conveniences and the grout is clean and new. Location is also exceptional, very easy to commute anywhere around Seoul, with subway connected to the hotel, supermarket in the ground floor and bus stop right across the hotel. There are also many decent restaurants nearby. The staff was also very helpful with making restaurant reservations and were always ready to help.

Good!
The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. However, the breakfast lacked choices, and during my 2-week stay here, I found myself already taking the same food since Day 2. Also the gym was pretty small and did not have lots of workout equipment, although it was pretty clean and quiet.

Perfect!
The hotel location is great; it is well connected to the subway (B1 connects with a supermarket, a few restaurants, and an exit to the subway station), multi-bus stop, and airport bus station just a few minutes away. The room isn't big but comfortable enough for a few nights stay in Seoul. Also, hotel staff are very friendly and helpful.

Perfect!
Our last leg of South Korea trip and after missing the city of Busan due to the snow in Jeju that caused our flight to be cancelled, I was actually looking forward to have a good time in Seoul. Lotta City Hotel Mapo was the choice of accommodation for the final 8 days from 24th-31s December 2023. What I like: 1) Location - while this hotel is not located in the more glamorous and popular area such as Myeongdong, Hongdae, Dongdaemun & Gangnam; it has 4 subway lines (Line 5, 6, 9 and Airport Railroad aka AREX) that runs below it. Those who want to take train from and to both Incheon & Gimpo Airport will have direct train to the hotel rather than having to switch trains. 2) Since we want to stay with our kids together in one room, they inform me that Superior Suite Twin could fit our family of 5 although it would be slightly cramped. Luckily the 3 kids could still sleep together in one bed. Our room also has a living room and it definitely made it feels spacious. 3) Underneath the hotel (B1 & B2) houses quite a number of F&B establishments such as restaurant, cafe and fast food. They also have a supermarket (thank god!) so we can buy food supplies + boozes! Even on their lobby, they have a pharmacy and a convenient store. 4) The surrounding area has some hidden gems ready to be unearthed such as a cafe in traditional Hanok house called Fritz Coffee about 500m++ away; an awesome braised pork trotter (actually a few) restaurant within walking distance, an excellent BBQ pork (and beef) restaurant, etc. What I don’t like: 1) Our room was actually quite dated and in need of refurbishment. The furnitures in our room - cabinets, sofa, table - showed signs of aging. However, the room was clean and this was important to our stay. 2) They switched off the air-conditioning during winter which they informed us only when we complained. The room could be quite stuffy at times. 3) Didn’t use their swimming pool but apparently it’s chargeable in South Korea due to government regulations. If I’m not mistaken, it’s KRW20000 for adult and KRW10000 for kid.

Good!
Great location- subway stop in the basement. Indistinctive design, dubious cleaning and the same breakfast every day. Do not ask the receptionist to order a cab for you because the price goes up 35% at least. Very bad service.
