Spent a wonderful four nights here. The room was uniquely beautiful, a mix of traditional Korean and modern styling. Everything about the room was first class, luxury. The bath tub was so large and fancy, with a great view of the ocean. Also the best toilet I've ever used! Even the hair dryer was a Dyson. Everything was like that. Only minor thing was the TV offerings weren't that special; no movies available.
We enjoyed their breakfast. The signature latte was great, but the surf and turf I had was only average. The service seems new and amateurish.
One highlight were the grounds- amazing attention given to everything. The infinity pool was huge and quite stunning. The indoor pool impressive too, but hot tub was only lukewarm. Dry sauna made up for that.
Overall, we loved this place and recommend it.

I fell in love with JW Marriott this newly built Boutique Hotel Resort & spa exceeded my expectations.
The location is about 50 minutes from JeJu Airport but I love the location, the beautiful architecture, and my stay was absolutely amazing.
From arrival I love how the hotel provides a VIP experience from lobby to room.
It’s a true five star experience from the restaurant amenities, to pool service, to gym, to tea service.
The property is new so it’s immaculate, very sterile, the rooms are beautiful and remind me of condos more than a hotel
The design is modern and thoughtful you can see the inspiration from various artists and love the finishing touches throughout the room.
My welcome box and handwritten note was so sweet and thoughtful.
Room Service in general service levels in Korea tend to be elevated but this hotel nailed food service, setup, and room delivery. The food was great I ordered room service about 4 days out of my 6.
My room came with complimentary brunch and it was truly a brunch from the wide array of cuisines, meats, seafood, deserts, salads and included champagne and caviar.
Pool Service was great. Being able to lounge at the picturesque pool with mimosas and champagne. The view is breathtaking- literally a scene from a KDrama.
During my time I had car service and appreciated that JW help me set up driver and the process-payment was seamless.
One of my favorite things was the staff that were incredibly professionally knowledgeable and provided great service. Huge thank you to property manager, front desk manager, spa manager, and the manager who handles afternoon tea.
Spa Massage was incredible the spa room, setup, and experience was 5 star
Highly recommend afternoon tea service at Sun down breath taking view and the tea cakes were delicious and Instagram worthy
- strolls around the property morning or evening it’s beautiful not too crowded and you can relax and decompress.
- loved the bathtub and ceiling shower it was like having a beautiful and large spa in room. Spent a lot of time bathing in the tub and relaxing big enough for a mini pool party
- A family friendly property from design to functional witnessed families enjoying their time- I plan to bring my parents this year
I planned several months trying to find the perfect hotel this was it, I typically stay at Four Seasons when in Seoul so this was on par and in several ways offered an elevated experience. As a solo woman travel safety, convenience, comfort. And experience were all met. I really love this hotel and recommend anyone traveling internationally to JeJu to stay here.
Expectations: as a new hotel so they are evolving, which means that some things are in development or seasonal but quality and experience are not compromised. This is a great international hotel with the quality and level of excellence I’ve come to love when visiting Korea.

Price: Rooms here cost starting ~$600, and go over ~$1500 a night for the rooms with ocean view. We spent 47000 Marriott points a night to book this hotel for 2 nights.
Location: The hotel is built on a cliff side near (or in?) the city of Seogwipo. There is a Olle trail passing right outside the hotel, which we walked on one morning. We had clear skies on the days of out stay, and you could get an amazing ocean view from the rook of the hotel. We took a bus from CJU airport to get to Seogwipo, and then a taxi from the city to the hotel. Its not directly connected to the airport by bus. You probably need to rely on taxis to get anywhere, but a lot of attractions are less than 15 minutes drive.
Parking: We did not have a car on our trip, but they did have a parking lot.
Internet: Good connectivity in the room, and in most parts of the hotel.
Room: We booked the standard King room with garden view, and did not get any sort of upgrade. The room was huge with three separate areas for bathing, dressing and toilet. There are a lot of mirrors and Japanese style wooden surfaces throughout the room. It was really beautiful when you first enter it.
I really likes the slippers they provided for the room. The bathtub was absolutely massive, and made of some kind of marble. They really used the nicest things to make this room.
The view from our room was only kind of okay. We could not see the water at all, as it was facing away from the ocean.
Service: This was the best part of the stay. Every staff member was really helpful, and got us whatever we needed really quickly. We wanted a different pillow at night, and they got it in a few minutes. They helped us communicate with taxi drivers since we could not speak Korean. They heated some of the food we had in the morning. And we were greeted whenever we passed by the staff.
We got unlimited water bottles for our room which was amazing!
Dining: This was one of the disappointing part of the stay. We are vegetarians, and there was nothing for us to eat in the hotel. I think they just had one salad that was vegetarian, and that's about it. We communicated multiple times about our dietary preferences: few days before coming to the hotel, and also when we arrived. Both times, the staff acknowledged us, but did not provide any answers for what we can eat at the hotel.
In the end, we ended up not eating at any of the hotel restaurants. Instead, we just picked up rice and yogurt from the convenience stores, and ate that during breakfast. And we had dinner in the Seogwipo city.
Resort: The facilities they have are amazing. There is an infinity pool outside, looking into the ocean. And there is an indoor pool and saunas, a large gym, a fitness studio, and some kids play areas.
Beyond that, I think you would get bored at the resort after a few days. They did not have any interesting activities to speak of. They had a nature walk and yoga class in the morning. But it was booked out for the next week when we arrived. I am not sure how someone is supposed to get reservation for those activities if you are just staying for a few days. They also had a cocktail making activity for which they are charging extra money.
So basically you don't have any recreation available other than the pools and sauna. This is really an area the resort needs to improve, and we felt was most lacking.
Elite Status Recognition: We had Marriott gold status. Our status was not recognized at the property. We did not get a room upgrade. We asked for a late checkout at 1pm, but only got a 12pm checkout.
Would I stay again?: Maybe. The building is lovely, and the rooms look nice, but the combination of minimal activities and lack of dining options would make me look for other options in the city. I certainly would not pay cash to stay here, but it is a good value to use your Marriott points at.

We had high expectations coming to this resort as it was over $1,100 CAD per night for a basic room. Luckily we used our Marriott BV points + SNA and got upgraded to a suite. The rooms itself was big, clean and spotless with a nice ocean view - very zen feeling. The entire stay felt very secluded and private. A nice little touch, they delivered a small cake to the room for my wife’s birthday. Shout-out to the staff.
I found the check-in process a bit odd and time consuming. We were told to sit in the lobby and check-in attendant would come and check you in. I would estimate the entire process took around 30 minutes before we got to our room. The lobby was not busy. I give the resort 4 stars as the price is a bit steep.

Suite Room – At a Korean Sanctuary
I’m coming to Korea a few times a year, but now always make sure to include a weekend trip to Jeju just so we can stay at this very unique JW. A true sanctuary, if travelling with or without children.
Life starts to slow down the moment you step into the open spaced lobby, overlooking the ocean, being seated in comfortable, traditional couches alongside the lobby and served traditional sweets and teas which change by the season while the front desk manager, Max took care of our check-in. He remembered us from our first stay in March and made us already feel back home.
And this is just a small pre-taste, the entire experience created for this property from its location, design, F&B and service is driven by a passion to create a real and authentic encounter with Korea, the JW staff, and our selves.
And in combination with its spacious layout and limited room numbers, it creates a tranquil experience for singles, couples, and families. Making everyone feel like family and comfortable. A good example are the indoor and outdoor pools which are even in October so warm that we always just end up hanging out at the hotel and never leave after we checked in.
This is truly a very addictive sanctuary in Korea to take time out and rejuvenate.
A quick note on the suites, we this time stayed at the Panorama Suite which was an incredible experience. The bathroom was even more luxurious as in the standard rooms we usually stayed in, which are amazing already. The bathtub in the suite is easily the size of a 4 people hot tub and in addition to the standard BVLGARI amenities had some unique Jeju aroma bath therapies with Yuzu fragrance and other bath salts.
Besides the spacious bath, living and bed room, our suite featured two balconies with ultimate privacy.
Since the property sits right at the small cliff above the ocean the rooms offer and unobstructed view of the sea, the small island in front of the hotel with the moon above and the lights of squid boats below, the perfect end of a long day. Especially after starting the day with the hotel’s amazing free flow champagne Brunch Royal buffet with French caviar and its desserts which are the bests we had in Asia. Followed by an afternoon at the pool with a complimentary snacks and drink at 4:30, and dinner at the lounge or restaurants.
Insider Tip for Platinum Members and above, if you love to indulge yourself, get the complimentary breakfast in the morning before going for a long stroll along the shoreline, then return to Brunch Royal for lunch ($50 discount). And get taken care of by the wonderful staff, like Jessica, and the pastry chef Marco while enjoying amazing seafood, meats, caviar, and champaign for lunch until 2:30 pm but make sure you leave space for the world best desserts. But note that the welcome gifts are usually also wonderful traditional pastries or snacks. So get ready to be spoiled and have a wonderful, relaxing time at this true, authentic sanctuary.
