I love baekpan restaurants and this one in Mokpo is the best one so far. Baekpans are no menu restaurants that serve homecooked meals. The side dishes and main dishes varies depending on the season and availability of ingredients. The day we were at Baekseong, they served us 12 side dishes, 2 kinds of grilled fish (fresh and dried) and a piping hot pot of clam and mussel soup. It wad one of the best meals I had in Korea, hands down. We came here around 11am to avoid the crowds. The place got full by lunch time but service was exceptionally fast and steady. We paid 12,000 won per person for all these yummy food!

A very flavorful side dish without the typical southern salty taste. Highly recommended if you don't mind the long wait

Were you so excited!!! I couldn't eat the mussel soup because it wasn't fresh. The kimchi was so tasteless that I didn’t eat it. The opening is delicious. I'm never going again. I've been to a lot of local restaurants, but this isn't the place... Why is it famous???

It doesn't taste anything special, and it doesn't taste like a regular restaurant, but it's not particularly delicious either. It's worth a visit at least once The clam mussel soup was really refreshing and delicious. It seems like there are more people after 11 o'clock (maybe because it's usually check-out time for nearby hotels.)
