Review
Food was great and the price was reasonable. Service was quite slow but we were satisfied with the quality of the jajangmyeon. It has very rich ingredients as well as delicious bean sauce that we couldn't get enough of!

Food portions were large. The food lack taste, as most sauces were thicken using corn or tapioca starch.

Since this was the birthplace of jiajangmyeon in Korea in the early 1900's, we had to try the food, even though many reviews have noted that there are other places with better jiajangmyeon. With lowered expectations, we were pleasantly surprised.
Other than the sauce in their signature jiajangmyeon dish being slightly too sweet and the noodles being a tad overcooked, the food was very tasty and filling. The sauce had a generous amount of tender squid slices and tofu.
The shrimp fried rice had a nice subtle and clean taste. The tea was lukewarm but had a nice aroma.
The service was fast and friendly.

Staff at the entrance downstairs was very friendly, but the waitresses were unabashedly disappointed that I was a solo diner and seemed rather unhappy that they had to arrange a table for one.
Jjajangmyeon is alright and they also have a range of other Chinese style dishes (definitely for sharing as the portions are large and prices are quite expensive). Free coffee available for diners too at the second floor!

The sauce of Gonghwachun Jjajang is a bit salty. The seasoning of the jjambbong is moderate. The outside of the fried dumplings is well-fried and has a crispy taste, but the inside is a bit salty.
