Good!
Don't stay here! Admittedly the location is great, but there are plenty other hotels with great location you could find. The service is bad - I asked twice for a pair of slippers and they never came. The front desk attitude was fairly dismissive. All these are fine; however, they promised a $30 credit back if you spend money at the hotel restaurant or café. I never received any credit after purchases there. I tried calling the hotel and all they do is transfer me to the customer service which never picks up. I tried calling Marriott but they said this hotel handles its own billing and they won't do anything. Your money could be better spent elsewhere for a much better service and experience. Update: calling the hotel, getting transfer to the customer service, and leaving a voicemail worked to get my $30 credit applied. Though I upgraded the review to 3 stars, it doesn't seem to be worth the hassle - won't stay again.

Great!
This place is very convenient to the theater. The rooms are small, but very clean. The breakfast was good, including eggs made to order, which I like. I felt safe. You need a key to go up the elevator and to get in the front door at night.

Great!
The room was comfortable and the location was great. Central Park is about 5 blocks north and Times Square is about 10 blocks south of the hotel. There is a subway entrance directly outside the hotel so it is in a very convenient location. The staff was very accommodating and there is a nice library/bar downstairs. The only negative about our stay was the breakfast at The Hudson Market. It was $38 and the food was pretty bad. The pancakes were hard and crunchy, the eggs were disgusting, and the bacon was soggy. There are some really good places to get breakfast within a very short walking distance and far less expensive. Otherwise, the hotel was great.

Worst.
The hotel is super old inside and out. Age shows all over this hotel. Rooms have torn up wall papers, completely damaged wood work, dripping showers, scaled shower heads, stained carpet and furniture, and door latches that get stuck and prevent you from exiting the room. This hotel should have a 2 rating. As for service I must say none exists. No room service, front desk people are rude and the manager on duty Steve P just gives you lip service. You may be like us and ignore the reviews and find out for yourself that you should have respected the reviews. This is the last time we will ever stay at this hotel even if the rooms were free.

Great!
I would stay here again. The location overcomes any issues with a slightly older hotel feel. Our room was clean but we could not regulate our thermostat, thus it was hot in our room. Service was good. Shout out to Fern, the security guard. His directions for getting through the subway system were excellent. Parking was very convenient, but expect to pay a lot per day.
