Disappointing Return to Taj Hotel Ganges, Varanasi I have frequented the Taj Hotel Ganges in Varanasi until 2017 and cherished those memories, which led me to bring my family here on our recent trip to India. Regrettably, our experience starkly contrasted my previous visits. While the hotel remains an affordable option in comparison to other esteemed hotels in India, it falls short in delivering comfort. We encountered small, poorly maintained rooms with an unpleasant odor. A room change did little to alleviate this issue, as the second room also had a moldy smell. Our dining experience at the hotel's Indian restaurant further compounded our disappointment. Despite our group's diverse food preferences, which included requests for items from the international menu, the service was exceedingly slow. It took over an hour and twenty minutes for our order to arrive, and only after a frustrating interaction with the staff and a direct complaint to the manager. The overall experience was distressing, culminating in a ruined evening and the cancellation of our planned sunrise activity, much to the dismay of our young family members. The service at Taj Hotel Ganges was noticeably poor, exacerbated by an understaffed restaurant during a busy period. This is particularly unacceptable in a country like India, known for its hospitality and abundance of willing workforce. I am disheartened to say that our experience was overwhelmingly negative. Based on this visit, I must advise potential guests to consider alternative accommodations in Varanasi. Despite my previous loyalty to this hotel, it no longer lives up to the standards I fondly remembered. On second day experience improved a lot, service was much better.

Our third stay in less than a decade in this property. Fine experience, as usual, with the Taj group. Special mention for Praveen of house keeping and Sombir and Muskan from Chowk, the restaurant.

It is unique experience to be here. Pleasant stay in ancient city of the World. I recommend that you can have a good time with family and friends with premium service.

We had an amazing experience at the 5-star hotel. Ritishna and Rakesh provided impeccable service, and Chef Nishant’s culinary creations were divine. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations, making it a truly memorable stay.

It's more of heritage type hotel.. rooms are equipped with modern amenities. Staff behavior is one of the best in industry. Location is perfect for all kind of movement.
