It's fine. It's certainly not "worth" the location-based/season-based rates, but that's staying in a major city for you. Motto's very walkable to a lot of big destinations, and is a conveniently short drive away from the major hospitals in the area. Pleasant surprises: Plentiful soap, shampoo, etc. Bathroom was extremely clean. Staff at the desk are very helpful regarding getting around/advising on ideal routes, traffic time, etc. Things to know: Don't use the valet parking across the street. You can park your own vehicle at another nearby garage for cheaper if you're arriving later in the day, and not be at the mercy of the very poorly-reviewed valet service. The hotel's deal with the garage across the street subjects all hotel guests to a flat rate of $50 no matter how late they arrive. Just go to the Commerce Square garage and park there. Very short, reasonably safe walk from there to Motto. Not super quiet. Quieter than expected, but hallway traffic noise bleeds through the door and the HVAC is also a bit loud. Not a serious complaint; if you're a light sleeper, bring your sleep phones or white noise.

This place was perfect for me and my significant other for two nights. Others stating there is no storage…. Thats pretty much implied in the hotel listing and all descriptions. There is a small but sturdy table, a bench that has drawer storage in it, a small area with 4 shelves and a space to hang things by the door with 4 hangers, three hooks by the door and two hooks in the bathroom. It was more than enough for us. The rooms are very nice, there’s water refill stations in the hall and the lobby is super cute. Front desk staff were so helpful and pleasant. The valet parking across the street was also great. No issues at all.

A no nonsense minimalistic hotel in a great location. I stayed here for a couple of nights for a recent work trip. The room was very small with little to no storage nor furniture. This was fine for me since I spent very little time in my room. But if you need a place to work or hang out you will be disappointed. The decor is modern and clean with just the essentials. Although the room was small, it was laid out in a thoughtful way. So everything had a purpose. I did not eat in the restaurant downstairs so I cannot speak on it. However I did enjoy the coffee cafe in the main lobby area. They had excellent coffee and some amazing pastries. Service was friendly and fast. If you need an inexpensive and simple room this is the place.

Had a lovely time at the Motto in Rittenhouse. Great location walkable to shops, restaurants, center city, and public transit. The room is very minimalistic, but comfortable. The restaurants also have delicious food and a nice cafe for morning coffee. Service was very friendly as well. Only cons for me were that the views are what you pay for. the room was almost too minimalistic and would have liked a couple more outlets, and had some staining on the sheets. Otherwise, enjoyed the stay and would book again.

A good experience overall! The staff was friendly and the room although small was clean and comfortable. I appreciated the free water bottles they give out! The shower water was barely warm. It was walking distance to the market, independence hall and the liberty bell. We Ubered to the rocky steps but walked back. I’d stay here again! The taco bar upstairs was a great place to relax after exploring the city.
