Good!
This hotel is situated in a great area, across from Reading Market and everything is conveniently at walking distance. I would've given an overall 5 stars but our room was adjacent to the elevator shaft and literally heard the elevator going up and down. Good thing we only stayed for two nights, and when I complained about the room noise situation, the only answer that was provided to me from the front desk was that I should've asked for a quieter room when I first checked in? Like really...? The elevator shaft noise is an option that you have to let the staff know that you don't want when you check in. C'mon Marriott you can do better. But just to add, our housekeeper was very accommodating and extremely friendly!

Good!
The hotel's right in the middle of everything, which is great. The rooms are modern, which is good. Unfortunately, the 4,000 person conference here this weekend is clogging the elevators and on site restaurant. There's been 10-15 min waits for the elevator on the 13th Street side. There was a 15-20 wait to be seated for the buffet brunch at 13. It's probably not always like this, but the chaotic environment and long waits have been kinda frustrating. If you don't need all the services, the Residence Inn and Courtyard are around the corner.

Worst.
It's in a good location there are many restaurants in walking distance but there is no parking unless you pay almost $100.00 a day which is CRAZY but you have no other choice so we went ahead and used the vallet parking and were told to call 15 min ahead to get our car when leaving but when we tried to call down to get our car the line just rang and no one picked up.The staff was nice the first night we arrived (Saturday 2:30 shift) however staff at checkout Sunday morning was not very friendly especially the Valet staff...very rude and seemed bothered to be spoken to or help. The building seems nice and clean but we woke up with a BEDBUG on our pillow!!!!! So all is not what it seems. That was disgusting and blew it for me, I will never go back! Also the bed was horribly uncomfortable, the worst sleep I've had in a long time. I would not have even written a review except for the bedbug incident, but I feel like that's something I would want to be told.

Absolutely Horrible Experience – Beware! If I could give zero stars, I would. We booked a reservation at Marriott Philadelphia Downtown a full month in advance for the AAO event, thinking a reputable hotel would at least honor a confirmed booking. We arrived at 1 AM, exhausted after a long day of travel, only to be told they had no room for us. They apologized, but then simply sent us 15 miles away to another Marriott — completely ridiculous! They left us stranded in the middle of the night without the accommodations we reserved. This hotel clearly overbooks and treats guests like numbers, not people. No sense of responsibility, no real customer service, no professionalism. Avoid this hotel at all costs if you expect your reservation to actually mean anything. This was not just inconvenient — it was disrespectful and outrageous.

Perfect!
Super nice hotel with a great location right near the market. Other restaurants are nearby, as is the convention center. Great lobby and social meeting area. The room was nice and special thanks to Fajah for ensuring I had a room with a view. Fajah was very professional and laughed at my dumb jokes I used to relax myself after dealing with foot and vehicle traffic to get to the hotel. Highly recommend this location. Be well!
