Great!
It's a nice, if a bit older hotel. Great breakfast for globalist. Location is kind of tough because there's not much to walk to (but very close if you wanted to walk/run around the river!) They have a shuttle but it's very sporadic and kind of hard to keep up with. Lots of waiting around for it so we just took Uber. Really nice gym. Restaurant is good. The breakfast sandwich is delicious and I loved the chicken wings. Drinks are a bit pricey but that's pretty normal for hotels. Not sure if we would stay again since there are newer options across the river but if you really have to stay in Cambridge it's solid

Not bad
THERE IS NO POOL!!! If you’ve clicked on this site you DO see a pool, but beware IT’S A LIE! Booked this hotel because it had a pool which I really medically need. Found out once checked in that the pool was a shell with no water in it. Upon check out I expressed my disappointment on this matter and was told that the google site didn’t have pictures of the pool which isn’t correct. I wish they would have righted the wrong and at best gave me a discount, but they didn’t. The shuttle offered was useless. Will NOT pick up or drop off at the airport. We took the T to the Kendall station then called the shuttle driver. He stated he would be there in 5-10 minutes. I told him our location and to look for a Great Dane service dog and two women. We waited for 15 minutes, but never saw the bus. Ended up in an Uber. That was $10. The shuttle will NOT take the 2 minute drive to BU either . The whole stay just saw the buses sitting outside the hotel idling. Don’t really know what or where they go. Very disappointed! Other than that, the on site restaurant is good, the hotel was clean with clean room, nice view of the river, courteous employees, many elevators, nice outdoor area. Very DIRTY AIR VENTS ! This property is next to MIT campus and a police station. I felt very safe, even when taking the dog out after midnight. Recommended if you travel with a service dog. Lots of close potty areas. Wonderful walk or running paths just outside. Convenient to BU via CT2 bus or 20 minutes walk.

Great!
Decent hotel. They have a free shuttle that takes you around Cambridge and you can call for it to pick you up. The restaurant food is just ok but not terrible. The cafe downstairs has really good coffee actually (don’t sleep on the lavender latte) and lots of snacks and drinks. I like the location of the escalator too. Concierge was always nice and helpful. I was here for an event and I think it’s a good location to host large ballroom events.

Worst.
Stay at the Marriott. Bar here is open til (supposedly) 11 and because of the central atrium design (a la Embassy Suites) can be heard from rooms. 11:35 now and still raging. Apparently they have a “conference” but I see about 10 people keeping everyone else up. Reminds me of college days on weekends with paper-thin walls, except I am 40 and here on a work night to get sleep not party. I’m jet-lagged, got meetings in the am, and needed to get up early. I’m not enjoying this one bit. Actually, it sucks. Inconsiderate to close the bar at this hotel anytime after 10, but at least close it when you say you’re going to. This hotel needs to decide whether it’s Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Resort or a business/family hotel because you can’t be both. Other than that, perfectly nice hotel.

Good!
It's in the middle of nowhere for a walking city like Boston, and is completely surrounded by university buildings with no stores or restaurants. The nearest place to eat or drink is about 2k away and there are no shops to buy snacks nearby. I walked over both bridges from the hotel - the Boston University bridge takes you to nothing but more university buildings and thousands of students walking all over the place - with nothing to get something to eat or drink (some student place, ha ha), and the further Charles bridge takes you to Massachusetts Avenue where you have the pick of different places - after a very long walk! The hotel is very dated, and if you have breakfast included, expect to wait ages to be served from a limited menu in the main 'restaurant' - there is no buffet if you're in a hurry. For the 'American Breakfast', they serve you two tiny pieces of toast to go with it, even though there is also jam and honey on the table - what are you supposed to do with that, use your finger? I asked for more toast. You can also buy from the ground floor 'cafe', but the choice there wasn't that appealing either. A couple of people on my trip said the basic evening food from the restaurant was 'okay', but it was a soul less place to do anything in during my four nights. Room was fitted out okay, but the basin and shower were both blocked - room 1501 - nothing like standing in waste water for four mornings when you're having a shower. What I would add however, is that the check-in team were very friendly and welcoming on my Sunday night arrival. And the business meeting room we had hired for a couple of days was also kitted out well with a great screen, and supported by friendly and efficient drinks and snacks staff. But stay in the Seaport area/downtown instead if you want a bit of life!
