My husband brought me here for our belated honeymoon and Emerald Lake was absolutely breathtaking. When you pay steep prices like this, there are expectations. When you show up for the third night in a row you would assume the SAME bartender should know you by name by now, the food was Michelin star quality so hats off to the chef. But… when the word chef is in the title of a restaurant, no kids should be allowed. We had a screaming kid next to us every night we sat down for our meal. We have our own kids but would never disrespect other couples to that level. We looked forward to an evening in the hot tub and when we finally had the opportunity to enjoy a little dip, there was a couple with their two young children making snowmen and bringing the small snowmen in the hot tub to melt. We do look forward to our return but not sure Emerald Lake Lodge will be our top pick.

One of our favorite places on earth. Location, food, and service are outstanding. Rooms need some updating. We honeymooned there in 1989, and busted again in 2019, other than the rooms needing some TLC, we love this place. We also miss the large stainless steel hut tub, but we realize heating that beast had to cost a fortune. The new tub is nice, but small for the size of the resort. We will definitely be back again !!!

Emerald lake lodge is horrible in our experience. Lake is beautiful and that is public but the lodge and service are trash. Read on for the story. They should be ashamed especially for what they charge. Dilapidated, outdated rooms from the 70s. Tourists are allowed all over the lodge property so it's bustling and noisy. Our balcony door was broken, they sent maintenance, they didn't fix it. We mentioned it again in the morning that we didn't feel safe, they offered us a new room, one that is apparently renovated, we didn't know there were renovated rooms, it needed housekeeping so they said we could move in when we get back from our day trip. Marcos also said this room was within the rate we booked, any other room would be an upgrade, we said no need for the upgrade, just something comparable that is safe. We get back, new staff, explained the situation, we waited 20m until this staffer, she has very long straight brown thin hair, had us go back and forth several times, wrong key etc, only to tell us we had to pay more money. We explained the issue w the door and what Marcos said, she refused to help us. We asked to speak to Marcos, she said it wasn't possible. She ruined our trip, it was our anniversary. If you do go, make sure all your doors lock and you get a renovated room.

Rooms are nice and the patios are a great addition. They are a little dated but it gives the mountain feel for sure. Service was satisfactory very good to have conservations with but very young and very international. Noticing they have staff accommodations this was expected. It is not a negative in any way but inexperienced in the industry. In regard to the scenery it’s absolutely breathtaking,almost unexplainable and must be experienced. A park pass is required to spend the night I recommend buying before you get to the lodge to prevent an extra trip down to the parking lot. The shuttle is convenient and needed. The luggage delivery was slow even at a slow time in the evening but allowed a quick stroll around the grounds. It’s expensive to spend the night possibly over priced but the scenery is incredible. I would have like to see a menu of simple food as well ?

This is truly one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited, and the location is unbeatable. However, the rooms feel extremely outdated for the price. We stayed in a pet-friendly room, so I understand those may not be as nice, but there was even chewed gum on the door frame. I would absolutely visit again, but for the price, I wouldn’t stay at the lodge.
