Have stayed here a few times over the holiday season. Recommend booking a signature room or higher to have space. Our king signature room was spacious with an incredible view. The hotel is so festive this time of year. Only downside is that it is extremely busy with non guests exploring the decor and using the bars. Make sure to book reservations for your breakfasts or at the library bar if you want to enjoy those services or amenities. Otherwise it’s an extremely long wait to get in, as a hotel guest.

Iconic hotel nearing 100 years old. Perfectly placed across from the train station making it convenient to take the train from the airport. Very near to both arenas, tourist sites and bar and restaurants. Staff was professional, personable, and memorable. The rooms are understandably older and even “remodelled” show their age. That wouldn’t have bothered me but my shower was the worst i have ever had. A friend in another room and same floor had similar experience. Pricey but you pay for the convenience and luxury of the hotel. Definitely worth a stay.

My wife and I had a lovely time at the Royal York last week. The room was comfortable and well-appointed. We had a nice view of Union Station and could just see the lake from our room as well. We didn't have much cause to interact with the staff during our stay, but every time we did, they were always helpful and pleasant. Check-in was easy and efficient. We were able to arrive early, drop off our bags, and have them brought up to the room once it was ready. The location was extremely convenient. We were able to take the train into the city and then simply use the underground PATH connection to make our way from Union Station to the hotel. This also made it very convenient to get to the subway and make our way to various other destinations within the city. My only slight complaint is that we both found the room excessively warm. Even with the thermostat turned off completely, it was still too hot to sleep comfortably. (Luckily we were able to crack the window for a few hours to bring the temperature down to a more tolerable range.) Overall, I very much enjoyed our time here. It was a lovely place to pamper ourselves for a couple days.

We stayed at suite 1-108 located just above the party venue area (mezzanine) and swimming pool/weight room. The suite is over 500 sq ft, very spacious and luxurious. The bathroom is about 36 sq ft which is small for such a spacious unit. The hotel supplied comb and toothbrush made of wood. They are made from quality materials. There are no real windows in this room. And being above the party rooms, I can hear and feel music playing until past midnight. If you are sensitive to loud music, then this may not be for you.
