ESTA(The Electronic System Travel Authorization) is an online pre-approval system that travelers must apply for before visiting the United States.
It is required for citizens of countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) and allows them to travel to the U.S.
for tourism, business, or transit for up to 90 days without a visa.
ESTA is not a visa; it is an electronic screening process that determines eligibility to travel under the VWP.
Applicants must hold a valid electronic passport (e-passport). Once approved, an ESTA is generally valid for two years, or until the passport expires—whichever comes first.
Please note that ESTA approval does not guarantee entry into the United States.
The final decision is made by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer at the port of entry.
