How to successfully register for K-ETA?

  • How to successfully register for K-ETA?

  • For travel, visiting relatives, attending events, meetings, or working (except commercially), citizens of countries (regions) eligible for K-ETA who wish to enter Korea without a visa must obtain advance K-ETA approval.

  • Please be sure to check the country of issuance of your passport.
(* K-ETA is different from VISA, please contact the Korean Consulate in your country to apply for a visa).

  • K-ETA review time is generally 72 hours, but depending on the situation (increased number of applications per country, applicant's circumstances), it may take longer than 72 hours, so please allow enough time (1-2 months) before applying.

  • If you do not meet K-ETA's internal review criteria, you will receive a rejection notice.
The internal review criteria is confidential and cannot be disclosed.
Please be sure to enter the correct information to register for K-ETA.

  • The most common mistake when registering for K-ETA is attaching a headshot.
You must attach a photo that shows your entire face from ear to, like a passport photo.
If certain parts of your face are covered or obscured by hair, your K-ETA registration will most likely fail.
