Completely overrated. I feel so sad to say as I was so excited to try her food. I got the crab omelette which was only good because they stuffed a lot of crab in there - the concept is the only reason why it’s so popular but the taste is very average — the price was also crazy expensive 1600BAHT. I ordered two drunken noodles that was partly cold, the seafood didn’t feel like it was mixed with the food. The staff also were rude as well. Wait was 2 hours, overhyped overrated.

We were lucky enough to visit this legendary eatery while Jay Fai is still kicking; friends of friends took the initiative to come on a Friday around 11 AM and we finally got seated around 1:30. The lady managing the queue can be a bit rough/harsh, but they have a system in place: by the time you are within 1-10 spots before being able to sit, you'll be asked to put your one and only food order. They cook everyone's dishes in order and then move on to the next party in line to keep things flowing, so you won't have an opportunity to make any food additions once you actually get seated. It is hot in this place as they are cooking with flaming charcoal right next to where you're seated; the cold Singha doesn't stay cold for long!
Crab omelette: the crab is meaty and plentiful but not all that sweet, and the omelette itself isn't pure egg but more of an egg based pancake holding all the crab in place. 8/10
Crab fried rice: same meaty crab in a delicate/light fried rice base. 8.5/10
Pad kee mao: the wok hei is legit and the seafood is huge (like I've never been overwhelmed by prawns before until today). We just wished there was like 2x as much noodle, a single order for a table of 5 was not enough. 8/10
Rad nar: very saucy noodle dish, again insufficient noodle and just not as memorable as the pad kee mao. Love the slightly dried squid though. 6.5/10
Tom yum: massive portion, big enough for 6-7 people. Very sour, very distinctive. 7.5/10
We saw someone else order the curry crab which looked huge and gave our whole table FOMO.
Total came to nearly 1000 baht/person, which is steep if not outrageous for street food. Overall glad for the experience, but would look for equally delicious at a better price point when looking for Bangkok street eats.

Phenomenal food and experience. It does take a while to wait for a table but it’s part of the process to have Michelin star food from such a reputable chef. Highly recommend the crab omelette - it was out of this world good.

The fact that she cooks all the dishes is just incredible. As a chef, the food is very good. Waited a long time, not just in front of the restaurant, and it was worth every minute. Thank you for the delicious meal. I will do it again someday!

A tourist trap to be honest. Overhyped for nothing. Michelin got embarrassed they took away the one star they gave her! Im actually very surprised that this establishment got a star to begin with. This place is a giant street food cart. No more.
Such a stressful experience. You have to wait outside like a dog begging for food, then they rush you like its life or death matter.. because they will call the number once and NO MORE! You would wait for hours and if you miss your number, you have to enter the queue again.
The staff are so rude, until you get in (because $$$ baby). They say they don’t accept reservations but they kept tables for some people.
I persevered and got in, because I want my review to be complete. I ordered the crab omelet and drunken shrimp noodles. Service is turtle slow. 1 hour in and still no food.
The crab omelette is good. What makes it special is the amount of crab meat! It tastes like KFC with crab!
If you really want to try the food, i recommend ordering through a delivery app. Even the delivery guy was waiting for a long time. If you want to eat in, i recommend coming in the afternoon (3ish).. except to be seated around 5ish.
