Semakan
I came to this shop many years back, so this time decided to try the taste again to recall back how does it taste. First day ordered a smaller bowl, meat are thin and only few slide. Soup tasted different and is not thick. Went back hotel with disappointment. During the last day, I decide to try again just have a quick dinner as it close to my hotel. This time I ordered a bigger bowl and notice that the soup is unsalted. No wonder the first round was tasteless. This round I added more pepper and some salt to bring back the flavour. Within a short time I swallow the entire big bowl ! So the tip is add more salt and pepper ! My kid order the pork soup during the second round and also a thumb up!

The famous Shinsun Seolleongtang has a popular branch in Myeongdong, known for its sleek, modern interior design and comforting Korean cuisine. The restaurant offers a clean and inviting atmosphere, making it a great spot to enjoy a warm meal after exploring the vibrant Myeongdong area. However, due to its popularity, there is often a queue to get in, and the waiting line is typically on the stairs, which can feel cramped and uncomfortable, especially during busy hours.
Once seated, the dining experience becomes more enjoyable. A unique feature of this branch is the self-service kimchi setup. Each table is equipped with containers of two types of kimchi—traditional cabbage kimchi and radish kimchi—along with scissors for you to cut the pieces to your desired size, adding a fun and interactive element to the meal.
The star of the menu is the Seolleongtang, a rich and flavorful ox bone soup. The broth is well-balanced, not overly salty, and perfect for pairing with the rice and seasonings provided. The restaurant also caters to families by offering a kid-sized Seolleongtang, making it a great option for diners of all ages.

As the temperatures start to drop, this hearty soup makes for the ideal comfort food. While the broth may have a slightly lighter flavor profile than some might expect, it still manages to pack a satisfying punch on its own.
Ah the gyozas.. At first glance, these dumplings don't necessarily stand out, but upon taking that first bite, they reveal themselves to be a wonderful surprise.
Bursting with juicy, flavorful filling, they complement the soup wonderfully and leave you craving more with each subsequent morsel.

Sinsaeng Seolleongtang in Seoul offers an unforgettable taste experience. Known for its signature seolleongtang (Korean ox bone soup), this traditional restaurant slowly simmers beef bones for hours to create a milky-white, richly flavored broth. The soup is surprisingly light yet packed with the deep, comforting taste of bone essence. From the very first sip, the warmth and mild flavor of the broth captivate, making each spoonful irresistible.
In addition to the soup, the kimchi served here is equally remarkable. The spicy, tangy kick of Korean kimchi perfectly complements the gentle warmth of the seolleongtang. Crisp and flavorful, the kimchi adds a refreshing balance to the meal, bringing out new layers in the soup’s taste.
On a cold winter day, a steaming bowl of seolleongtang paired with crisp kimchi is the perfect comfort. This combination not only warms the body but also brings a sense of happiness to the soul, making it an essential culinary experience on any trip to Seoul.
