Manisan Sanchae is a traditional Korean restaurant located inside a historic Korean house. The place is well-known as it was featured on TV a while ago. They use primarily Korean ingredients, and most particularly mountain herbs and fermented food.
The menu is small, but most of it is vegan-friendly: The acorn jelly salad, the rice dishes Bibimbap and Sotbap (minimum 2 person order), the potato pancake and mountain herb pancake are vegan by default. Among the complimentary side dishes, there tend to be some non-vegan items, e.g. the stew, kimchi or vegetables with mayonnaise.
Food tasted okay, and it was nice to find decent Korean food with vegan options when visiting Ganghwa Island. Koreans would probably describe it as healthy food.
The restaurant's interior is rustic, food is rustic, and the service is rustic.
The place was very crowded and we were lucky to get a table.
