I’ll start with the positives: hotel staff are very friendly for the most part. The food at the hotel’s restaurants is okay but overpriced (which is really no surprise given the area). Also, the location of the hotel is convenient, as other reviewers have noted.
However, the rooms are pretty outdated for a “four-star” hotel. Even the wall artwork was outdated. This is a stark contrast to the lobby, which is nice. We were upgraded to an “urban king” suite; however, the room didn’t even come with a refrigerator. The leather headboard above the bed was showing severe signs of wear. The bathroom was a little on the small side but clean. We were definitely expecting more considering the price.
There was also a pretty large conference going on at the time of our stay, and there were school-aged children running around and screaming through the halls. The influx of kids also caused a long delay in getting to an elevator. And as one reviewer noted, people (not just kids) will almost knock you down trying to rush into an elevator because of the long wait time.
Definitely do not stay here if you are looking for peace and quiet or are used to more upscale accommodations. This hotel might be good for you, however, if you’re traveling with family and/or looking for a central location.

This is our second time staying here, the first time was wonderful. This time, well early on we regretted staying here again. One of the reasons we enjoyed staying here to first time was because of the digital key check in. This time the key would not activate, so when we got in @730, we had to stand in line (Honors members). Took about 30 minutes to be told room wasn’t ready @ 7:30pm!!!
They did comp us dinner at the lobby lounge while we waited, but no table was available! We got notified about 30 minutes later, that room was ready! When we got to the room it wasn’t the premium corner room we paid for, so back to line we went! They told us they gave our room to someone else because they were hosting some high school UN conference. Wait what? They took $50 off the night for the room they put us in, then gave us original room we paid for the next day (5 day stay). AND on the first night we went out, when we got back we couldn’t get an elevator because so many students were waiting for them also, AND one elevator was not in operation! We had to take another set of elevators to a higher floor and then take stairs down to our floor! While our reserved room should not have been taken from us, we do feel the staff tried to make it right. I don’t know if we will stay here again this time of year, or maybe we will make sure that conference isn’t scheduled when we plan our next New York trip.

Decided to stay at this hotel with my wife without knowing they were hosting the National High School Model UN for the weekend, and boy did I ever make a mistake.
The hotel is not equipped for hosting an event of this size. There are hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of teenagers everywhere who will literally push people out of their way to get a spot on the elevator. Good luck even getting one without waiting at least 10 minutes. One reason being there are only three elevators for a large section of the hotel. The other reason being, these kids will press the up and down buttons, regardless of the direction they are going.
There are teenagers sitting in the hallways outside of the rooms, just lounging and yelling at each other. As a matter of fact, there are swarms of teenagers screaming at each other literally everywhere you look in this hotel.
I feel like I'm in a daycare centre.
If you're reading this now and considering the Hilton this weekend, LOOK ELSEWHERE.
Staying here this weekend was a horrible, horrible choice.
Hilton: please don't host events like this if you don't have the means to execute it without disturbing other guests.

This property was fantastic! The location, the cleanliness, the comfort, the staff! Amazing. When we arrived, check in was quick and simple, staff very pleasant, everyone we encountered, smiling and helpful. Our room had a city view, fridge AND they had Happy Birthday banner and balloons hung up on the. Wall. I called a few days prior and spoke with “Lord,” told him it was my daughter’s bday, shortly after they sent a up the most beautiful chocolate cake and two bottles of sparkling water, free of charge! The housekeepers were friendly and very helpful. The staff in Herbs Kitchen couldn’t have been nicer. Steven, one of the gentleman that greets you in front of Hilton, helped my daughter and I so much! He gave us directions, and got the best taxis during our stay. I was hoping to see him on our last day to thank him. We had a wonderful experience! Thank you NY Hilton Midtown!

Nice hotel in a good location. Easy to walk to Times Square, 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall as well as other popular sites. Rooms were not as clean as I would've liked with scuff marks on the walls, dust filled vents in the bathroom and stained sheets which was disappointing. Service was good and replacement items were given when requested. Very busy conference-type hotel.
