Perfect!
I'm an IHG member and is such, I tend to stick with the group. My work was in downtown for the week, but I chose to stay here because of the chain. Location is a little bit of the way, and I wish that there was a holiday in downtown, but it is not too bad where the walk to downtown is about 25 minutes. It gave me a chance to exercise my legs a bit as my work required me to sit most of the day. The place was generally well kept. Common areas were clean and well maintained. The room was a decent size and was comfortable. Because of the present of the water slide, this hotel tensor tracked a lot of young families. So when you stay here you have to expect that there may be some noise at times. Defender center was okay. The cable machine can use a few more accessories, I imagine they may have been lost over time, and one of the benches was worn out where the phone was showing. Decent cardio equipment. The size was good so you did not feel cramped. Overall I had a good stay.

Good!
Great location, friendly staff offering prompt service. The water closet cannot be called a bathroom, as there is no bathtub, and the space not occupied by the shower and toilet is just enough for one person. Closing the bathroom door required standing in the shower. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but the paper thin walls meant I could hear the guests in the next rooms conversations and coughing and toileting.

Worst.
The positive was the location, finding the hotel and the staff were nice (front desk) The negatives: I did not feel safe at this hotel. There were drug addicts in the lobby and outside, around the hotel. I did not eat at the restaurant as I heard bad reviews from the locals. I had 2 queen beds, one of the beds, the mattress had a urine smell. The toilet was leaking water. Strange to have wood floors in the bathroom. Housekeeping was ANNOYING. Knocking at 8:45am or 9:45pm on other people's doors, being LOUD. If you want peace, leave your "do not disturb" sign up. Had to fix my room key twice to be able to open the door to my hotel room. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

Not bad
The rooms very over $500 per night due to an event in town. I did not receive soap in my room and had to make a request twice. A staff member I bumped into the hallway provided this. I found bottoms or a bathing suit in the window which did not belong to me. The room was not properly cleaned between guests. Had several issue with my room key not working. The hotel is old, dated and the rooms are not very clean. I was here on business and wished we would have booked the holiday inn express instead. This was not worth the high price.

Worst.
Where do I start. From booking onwards nothing but hassles. I had a four night stay, the last night being on points. That alone is a complete hassle. The answers I got from staff, do I need to check in again or am I all set, were completely different each time and I even phoned twice before arrival (and good luck getting anyone to answer the phone). There was never the same person on the front desk during my four day stay and multiple times having to go there. My coffee maker did not work on arrival. My TV didn’t work. I had a whole three hangers so asked for more. My key had to be reprogrammed almost every day. I did opt out of housekeeping to earn the extra 500 points per night for three nights, which when I asked the staff about that they didn’t know what I was talking about, I had to take a picture of the card in the room that you hang on the door that explains it. Who knows if I will get those points or not. I removed the card yesterday and this a.m. specifically went to the front desk and asked for the room to be done today. I was out all day. After coming up to my room and then having to return to the desk to have my key redone yet again, I open the door to a room that has not been touched. Front desk does not pick up the phone three separate times so down I go again to ask for basic supplies. I am out of everything and also need the garbage emptied (this is night four with no housekeeping). I was told someone would come up and here I still wait 45 minutes later and I just want to go to bed. Very poor customer service at this place, no one seems to know what is going on. I would never stay here again, and frankly very disappointed with IHG in general. ADDING TO THIS: See the form letter response from management below? The failure to include contact info says everything about dealing with this hotel. Typical. Misses the mark every time. “Your feedback is invaluable to us as it helps us identify areas for improvement. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss your experience further and make things right. Please feel free to reach out to me directly at [Your Contact Information].” Useless.
